Inspecdon Maritime Inspection (“Inspecdon”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects the privacy of its users. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the Inspecdon Maritime Inspection mobile application, why that information is processed, where it is stored and how you can contact us regarding your information.

1. About Inspecdon

Inspecdon is a maritime inspection-readiness and vessel coordination application. The application may provide department-based inspection checklists; Bridge, Engine, Cargo, Safety, Security, Accommodation and Documentation sections; checklist completion tracking; notes and comments; inspection evidence photographs; custom checklist items and sections; Excel readiness reports; offline operation; nearby-device vessel synchronisation; local vessel announcements; Google Play subscriptions; individual, vessel and fleet licence management; vessel activation codes; and multi-device licence management.

Inspecdon is an independent application. It is not operated, approved, certified, sponsored or endorsed by OCIMF, CDI, any Port State Control authority, any Flag State administration, any classification society, charterer or oil major. References to SIRE 2.0, CDI, PSC and Flag State inspections describe the inspection-preparation purposes of the application only.

2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

Inspecdon is designed to operate primarily offline. The following information may be stored locally on your device:

• checklist completion records
• department and section progress
• notes and comments
• “not fitted” selections
• custom checklist sections and items
• completion dates and times
• inspection photographs
• local announcements
• vessel information entered by the user
• generated Excel reports
• locally cached licence information
• nearby-device synchronisation records

This information is not automatically uploaded to Inspecdon cloud storage. Inspecdon does not provide cloud storage for checklist records, inspection photographs or notes.

Local information remains on the device until it is deleted by the user, removed using an application function, replaced through an authorised synchronisation process, deleted by clearing the application’s storage or deleted by uninstalling the application. Uninstalling Inspecdon or clearing its application storage may permanently delete locally stored information. Users are responsible for exporting or backing up information they need to retain.

3. Checklist, Note and Photograph Data

Checklist records, notes and photographs are created and controlled by the user. Inspecdon does not use this information for advertising, behavioural profiling, marketing, analytics, artificial intelligence training, sale to third parties or unrelated commercial purposes.

Inspection photographs and notes remain locally stored unless the user intentionally transfers them to another authorised nearby device, exports them in a report, shares an exported file using another application or copies them outside Inspecdon. Once information is exported or shared through another application, its handling is controlled by the user and the receiving application or organisation.

4. Nearby-Device and Vessel Synchronisation

Vessel Pro and Fleet functionality may allow authorised devices to exchange information using Bluetooth, Android Nearby Connections, local Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct or similar local device-to-device technology.

Synchronised information may include checklist status, notes, photographs, custom checklist information, vessel announcements, completion information, department information, device name and synchronisation timestamps.

This information is transferred directly between authorised nearby devices. Checklist data, notes and photographs transferred through Nearby Sync are not routed through Inspecdon’s licensing server. Users must confirm that the devices joining a vessel network are authorised to access the vessel’s information.

5. Bluetooth, Nearby Devices and Location Permissions

Inspecdon may request Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or Nearby Devices permissions when the Vessel Sync feature is used. These permissions are required to discover nearby Inspecdon devices, establish a connection, verify the selected vessel network and transfer authorised vessel data.

Inspecdon does not track your physical movements, store your location history, build a location profile, use location information for advertising or share your location with third parties. Some Android versions may associate nearby-device discovery with a location-related system permission. This does not mean that Inspecdon actively tracks or stores the user’s location.

6. Camera and Photograph Permissions

Inspecdon may request access to the device camera or selected photographs when the user chooses to add evidence to a checklist item. Camera and photograph access is used only to capture inspection evidence, select an existing evidence photograph, display photographs within the application, include selected photographs in reports or transfer photographs to authorised nearby vessel devices.

Inspecdon does not continuously access the camera and does not automatically upload photographs to a remote server. Users are responsible for ensuring they are authorised to photograph the relevant vessel, equipment, document, workplace, terminal, port area or third-party property and must comply with the Master’s instructions, company procedures, terminal restrictions, port requirements, security rules and applicable laws.

7. Subscription and Purchase Information

Paid plans may be purchased through Google Play. Payments are processed by Google Play. Inspecdon does not receive or store full payment-card numbers, bank account details, Google account passwords or complete Google Play payment credentials.

To verify and manage a purchase, Inspecdon may process the Google Play product identifier, purchase token, hashed purchase-token reference, subscription status, subscription expiry date, renewal status, cancellation status, grace-period status, account-hold status, purchase acknowledgement status and an internal Inspecdon licence identifier.

The purchase token is used only to verify that a valid subscription exists and to manage the associated entitlement. Google independently processes purchase and subscription information according to Google’s own terms and privacy policies.

8. Vessel Licence and Device Information

Vessel Pro may allow up to ten active authorised devices under one vessel licence. To operate this system, Inspecdon’s licensing service may process:

• licence identifier
• subscription plan
• vessel name entered by the user
• vessel activation code
• hashed or generated device identifier
• device name entered by the user
• assigned department or role
• device activation date
• last licence-verification time
• device active or removed status
• number of active devices
• licence expiry information
• licence status

This information is required to activate authorised devices, enforce the device limit, prevent unauthorised licence sharing, display the number of active devices, remove old or unauthorised devices, restore licence access and maintain limited offline access. The licensing server does not receive the device’s checklist records, inspection photographs or notes.

9. Offline Licence Information

After successful online verification, Inspecdon may store a limited offline licence record on the device. The offline licence may contain a licence identifier, device identifier, plan type, permitted features, vessel identifier, issue date and expiry date. This allows authorised premium features to continue operating temporarily when the vessel has no internet connection. The device may be required to reconnect periodically to confirm that the subscription and device licence remain valid.

10. Information Inspecdon Does Not Collect

Inspecdon does not use third-party analytics or advertising tools and does not collect or use information for advertising or behavioural profiling.

Inspecdon does not intentionally collect advertising identifiers, contact lists, call history, SMS messages, precise location history, browsing history, search history, health information, biometric information, audio recordings, microphone recordings, financial account credentials, full payment-card information, third-party advertising profiles or cross-application tracking information.

Inspecdon does not use Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, advertising SDKs, behavioural advertising services or cloud photograph-storage services.

11. No Advertising

Inspecdon does not display third-party behavioural advertisements, sell or rent user information to advertisers or share checklist, photograph, vessel or licence information with advertising companies.

12. How Information Is Used

Information processed by Inspecdon is used only to provide application features, store local checklist records, display inspection-readiness progress, generate reports requested by the user, synchronise authorised nearby devices, deliver local vessel announcements, verify Google Play subscriptions, activate premium plans, manage Vessel Pro device limits, restore valid purchases, maintain offline licence access, prevent unauthorised use, respond to support requests, protect application security and comply with applicable legal obligations.

13. Information Sharing

Inspecdon does not sell personal information. Limited information may be shared only with Google Play for purchase and subscription processing, with the infrastructure provider used solely to operate the licensing service, with authorised nearby vessel devices when the user activates Vessel Sync, or where disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with law, investigate fraud or unauthorised access, protect users and the service, enforce the Terms and Conditions or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

The licensing infrastructure processes only the information required to verify subscriptions, create licences, register authorised devices, enforce device limits, refresh licences and remove devices. Checklist records, inspection photographs and notes are not uploaded to the licensing infrastructure.

14. Data Retention

Locally stored checklist data, notes and photographs remain on the device until deleted by the user or removed with the application. Licence and device information may be retained while the subscription or licence is active, for a reasonable period after expiry, while necessary to resolve payment or subscription disputes, while necessary to prevent fraud or repeated unauthorised activation, or where retention is required by applicable law.

Removed-device records may be retained in a limited form to protect licence security and prevent abuse. Support emails may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to the request and maintain a record of the support provided.

15. Security

Inspecdon uses reasonable technical measures intended to protect subscription and licence information. These may include secure network connections, server-side purchase verification, hashed purchase tokens, hashed or generated device identifiers, device-seat limits, licence expiry, device removal, restricted server access and signed or verifiable offline licence records.

No device, wireless connection, application or electronic storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users are responsible for securing their devices, using device screen locks, protecting vessel activation codes, removing lost or former crew devices, reviewing authorised devices, securing exported reports and following company cyber-security procedures.

16. User Rights and Requests

Depending on applicable law, users may have the right to request access to personal information held by the licensing service, correction of inaccurate information, deletion of licence or account information, restriction of certain processing, objection to certain processing or a copy of applicable personal information.

Requests should be sent to marication@gmail.com. Inspecdon may request reasonable information to verify the identity of the requester and identify the relevant licence. Data stored only on the user’s device must normally be accessed or deleted directly from that device.

17. Data Deletion

Local data can be deleted by deleting individual checklist records or photographs, using an available reset function, clearing Inspecdon’s application storage in Android settings or uninstalling the application.

Deletion may not remove reports already exported or shared, information retained on another nearby device, information retained by a vessel operator or employer, limited fraud-prevention records or information required by applicable law.

18. Children

Inspecdon is intended for adult maritime professionals and authorised maritime personnel. It is not directed to children, and Inspecdon does not knowingly seek to collect information from children.

19. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated where necessary to reflect changes to application features, subscription or licensing changes, security improvements, changes in law or changes in Google Play requirements. The revised policy will display an updated “Last updated” date.
